Quote

1) Heechul : During this period when I was hosting SungDong Cafe, I tried to communicate with a lot of listeners. Maybe it's because of this action, it does not seems nice (or correct) to do in the eyes of others. Thus they sent letters to the district office, saying can Public Service Personnel host radio like this? Is he going to continue playing during the broadcast? As there's a lot of letters like this, so even the district officers came down to check for the truth, after that I said, "Oh really? Okay, I will stop doing it then"
(a/n : The tone which Heechul uses is more of a casual and considerate one, I think he's trying to express "Since I'm putting the District Office in a fix, I will stop it then.", and not the stubborn and childish "If you guys don't like it, I quit!!!". Translating a person's tone and feelings in words is really very tough, I hope everyone do not misunderstand Heechul, he is a very considerate and kind guy in my heart.)

2) Heechul : Although I frequently joked about it, but to be honest I really have not got attracted by a girl's face before, it's the truth. Because no matter what I will be more pretty, so I don't really go for looks.

3) Heechul : I am thankful to SungDong District, when the incident of the people's letters occur, the District Head and District Leader spoke up for me, saying that "it's okay, as a part of our district's member, he served us sincerely, it's all for our district.", it's me who feel annoyed, so I said I will stop, maybe it's my personality problem..

4) Heechul : The District's stand is to hope that I can continue, continue hosting even if it's in the future.
DJ : Will (you) come back?
Heechul : After (I) rest for some time.
DJ : How long?
Heechul : District leader and PD wish me to continue after a short break, so I replied "The fastest is 3~6 months, or maybe after I had finished serving the army."

What has happened (what it actually seems that has happened) is that some people complained about the way Heechul is doing his radio program - they don't want him to receive as many phone calls. I guess thay want it more to be a 'one-man-talkshow' than an actual conversation between people listening and him. Because this is the format Heechul has taken with it and probably (knowing him, and it is nothing wrong to stick to your guns) has refused to change it, not to add to the fact that even if he doesn't really like to show it in the open but he is really the type of guy who sees everybody before himself. He saw that it may actually hurt the District Office and in order to lessen the possible damage if one at all, he decided to call it quits.

I do respect A LOT District Office for backing him up here and not leaving him to fend for himself. I do think that Heechul has shown his loyalty to the 'employer' and it was shown that the sentiment is returned. I guess they wanted him to stay even if his 'show' was getting complaints but Heechul simply couldn't have it. What I can see from the translation - they must have insisted enough for him to agree to come back but it has been decided that time off is needed. I do think that time 'off' is for complaining people to forget and back off and for Heechul to lick his wounds. He is more vulnerable than he seems to be.

I do think that so many people misunderstands Heechul personality that it is unprobable. I have learned through being his fan for a little while that he is simply type of guy whom you should judge not by words but by actions.

/so yes, I am quite annoyed with people complaining about him, bleh/

Sakkito, you pretty much spoke my mind!

I understand that since it's a radio show for the district, people are more used to the formal format. Heechul, coming from an entertainment background, of course, hosted it differently and so many people raised eyebrows.

I think the district is awesome for backing Heechul up. Seriously, it is just a matter of style and it probably added more liveliness. But since being formal and plain is probably the safest way, I also applaud and respect Heechul for his decision.
